Fall Kitchen Nook
Wednesday, September 14, 2011
Last week we had a break in the weather. It was beautiful most of the week then on Saturday it got hot again. The joys of living way down south HEAT. But today I decided to start decorating for fall even though it is over 90 degrees here. I'm secretly hoping it gets cool again and that maybe if I decorate it will help. I pulled out my pumpkins, fall looking beads and candles. I wanted to change the little nook above my sink so this is what I did.
I had all of these items already I just repurposed them or added to them. My favorite thing here is this little scarecrow plate. The plate was just a plain orange color and I knew it needed something else and I'm not a big Halloween decor person but I thought that the scarecrow was really cute and "fallish". I used brown vinyl, my Accent With Flourish Cricut cartridge, cut out just the layer parts of the scarecrow and applied him to the plate. I think he looks so cute.
The candle is sitting on top of a taper candlestick holder that I just turned upside down on top of a small glass plate. The stems, leaves, berries, and pine cones all came from a box set that I got last year. I wrapped the candlestick in pretty beaded napkin rings. This sits basically in the window so the beads are really pretty when the sun hits them.
Here's another look at the whole setup. I think it turned out pretty cute. What do you think? Have you done any decorating for fall?
I'm linking up to these parties...

I love that scarecrow! So cute!
I haven't started decorating for fall yet, but I'm excited to start!

I missed this post somehow! Looks great! Maybe I'd even do dishes if this was near my kitchen sink :)
